Our Building Process
Phase One: Pre-Construction
Before any construction starts, house plans are developed, finalized and submitted to the municipal building permit office for review. Permits may be required for all or some of the following work: building, electrical, plumbing, septic system and sewer connection.
Phase Two: Foundation
The property is staked out and the land gets prepared. Excavation is done, and the footings (concrete slabs to support the foundation walls) are formed and poured. Water, electricity, telephone and cable services may be brought in at this time. Foundation walls are erected, drainage is put in and a municipal inspection may occur before the exterior is backfilled.
Phase Three: Framing
During this stage, the exterior walls, interior partitions and roof are assembled. Windows and doors get installed and the electrical and plumbing get roughed in.
Phase Four: Finishing
Insulation of the exterior walls and roof is completed. Walls and ceilings are painted, flooring is laid and cabinets throughout the house are installed. Plumbing and electrical fixtures, as well as heating and cooling systems, are installed and interior doors are hung.
